Aluminum and steel are alternative material routes and should not be interpreted as one combined material. The earlier shackle and casting terminology does not define this product. A quotation should identify the selected horseshoe material, geometry, nail-hole pattern and intended farrier application.

Choosing Aluminum or Steel

Material selection should consider the horse, discipline, hoof condition, terrain, target shoe weight, wear interval and the farrier’s shaping and fitting method. Aluminum alloys can reduce mass, while suitable horseshoe steels may offer different wear and forming characteristics; neither route is automatically correct for every application. Confirm the exact alloy or steel grade and approve a representative sample before production.

Drawing, Forging and Fit Details

Provide outside length and width, web width, thickness, branch profile, toe and heel geometry, target weight, nail-hole count and pitch, fuller or crease details and any toe or quarter clip. The forging route, heat treatment if required, surface finish and achievable tolerances must be reviewed against the selected material and drawing. Generic standards or certificates should not be assumed to cover the finished horseshoe unless documentation identifies the exact supplied item.

Private Label and Wholesale Order

For OEM review, send a dimensioned drawing, existing shoe or approved sample together with the size range, front-to-hind mix, quantity per size, logo artwork, marking method, packaging and destination. Record the approved material, dimensions, finish, sample status and inspection points before bulk release. Final horseshoe selection, modification and fitting should be performed by a qualified farrier.
