Define the purpose before naming the finish
A decorative finish and a protective finish may solve different problems. State whether the priority is corrosion resistance during storage, a consistent retail appearance, color coding, easy identification, surface cleanliness or a specific brand presentation. Packing protection
Preserve the approved finish through delivery
Surface approval is incomplete if products rub, trap moisture or arrive with damaged coating. The inner pack, separators, moisture control, carton strength and pallet plan should match the product weight, finish sensitivity and freight route.
Make appearance approval easy to repeat
Use a physical sample when color, texture or gloss matters to your range. Describe which surfaces will be compared and any contact points that need protection in the pack. A photograph helps explain the request, but lighting and screens can change how a finish appears.
Keep the approved finish reference with the product specification and packaging instructions. If you change the treatment for a repeat order, review the new sample and packing contact surfaces together.
