Functional review
Evaluate the sample in the buyer’s real use and sales context
Farriers, distributors and brands may evaluate different aspects of the same sample. Record fit-related dimensions, nail compatibility, handling, appearance, pack suitability and any market-specific requirement. For custom products, return comments against the drawing or sample revision rather than relying on informal messages.
Bulk release
Carry the approved reference into production
Once approved, the sample, drawing and specification should refer to the same revision. RELIA then connects material, tooling, production, inspection, marking and packing to that reference. This turns approval into a repeatable manufacturing instruction rather than a one-time visual opinion.
Return comments against one identified version
Mark each sample comment against a model, size and drawing or sample revision. Separate dimensional changes from finish or packing feedback. Where a change affects a matching nail or component, include that reference in the review.
Record whether the sample is approved, needs changes or requires another sample. In the UK horseshoe project, a second sample round addressed a remaining heel adjustment before production approval. Confirm sample charges and timing for your own project.

How does an existing-model sample differ from a custom sample?
An existing-model sample helps confirm the selected product and variant. A modified or new-design sample must also be checked against the requested changes and drawing revision. State which decision the sample needs to support before the sample work is confirmed.
What should written sample approval identify?
Record the model, size, material, drawing or sample revision and the features accepted. Include any agreed finish, marking and packing references. A general message that a sample looks good does not clearly define approval across all variants and requirements.
What should I do if the sample needs a change?
Return comments against the identified model, size and revision. Separate dimensional changes from finish or packing feedback, and state whether another sample is required. Keep the revised drawing and sample record aligned before approving production.
Does sample approval confirm bulk price and delivery timing?
No. Product approval, commercial terms and production scheduling need to be confirmed together for the order. Sample charges, additional revisions, bulk quantities and timing remain project-specific. Use the quotation checklist to keep those conditions visible.
