Make the approved reference easy to identify
Use the selected model, drawing revision and approved sample together when defining acceptance. For a custom order, note the features changed from the starting model so the inspection does not rely only on its familiar product name.
Custom designs
New products receive a defined approval reference
A new design begins with a drawing, physical sample or clear brief for review. Before bulk production, agree the model, revision, material, critical dimensions, finish and packing. The inspection requirements then follow that product-specific reference.
Order evidence
Keep quality information useful for receiving and repeat orders
Buyers can request the documents and inspection information relevant to their program. The most useful evidence identifies the order, model, size, batch or carton, inspected feature and result so it can support receiving decisions and technical follow-up.
Agree the check before agreeing the result
For each critical feature, record what will be checked, the reference or limit, the measurement method and the required sample quantity. Specify any report or photograph needed with the inspection. The final inspection scope is agreed for the order; it should not be inferred from a general quality statement.
In our UK custom horseshoe project, branch symmetry and changed dimensions were part of the review, and the shipment was sampled against the confirmed reference. Your own checklist should follow the features that matter to your product.
